“Public service is about listening to people, understanding their needs, and working together to move our community forward.” LeQuan Hylton joined Nate Banks' Financial Hour podcast for a wide-ranging conversation about leadership, public service, and the priorities shaping the future of the Dale District.
Following the passing of five-term Dale District Supervisor James M. “Jim” Holland, the Board of Supervisors appointed Dr. LeQuan M. Hylton to fill the seat in an interim role. A special election in November 2026 will determine who will fulfill the remainder of Mr. Holland’s four-year term.
“I’m humbled and honored to be chosen to carry on Mr. Holland’s incredible legacy of public service,” Dr. Hylton said. “Those are big shoes that neither you nor I could ever completely fill, but I’m going to do my best, in my own way and with God’s and your help, to serve all people with excellence.
But Hylton is far from finished. “I want to be one of those people that, when I die, I’m just exhausted,” he says, “like I’ve gotten everything out of me.”

Hylton, a proud husband and father of three, knows a thing or two about the benefits of a career that defies conformity. He is an activist, a real-estate developer and a highly skilled reservist who has managed success at each of these pursuits simultaneously.
