Vision for Dale District
Opportunity. Affordability. Access.
A community where every family can thrive.
Education is the foundation of opportunity. Every child in Chesterfield should have access to modern schools, excellent teachers, and the resources they need to succeed. Expanding early education will ensure students begin kindergarten ready to learn and positioned to thrive.
Priorities:
Support the construction of the District's second Pre-K, inclusive of an early childhood wing: Dale Elementary School (planned for 2030)
Pay teachers like the professionals they are and respect them for teaching our children
Ensure that schools have modern infrastructure and technology
Strong communities are safe, walkable, and connected. Investing in sidewalks, public transportation, neighborhood safety initiatives, and Chesterfield’s first domestic violence shelter will help ensure families feel secure and supported where they live.
Priorities:
Invest in neighborhood parks and community spaces (ie. sit-down restaurants, daycares) and expand access to community services
Improve pedestrian safety and sidewalks, especially in high-traffic areas
Establish the county’s first domestic violence shelter
Support law enforcement that is focused on protecting neighborhoods
Every resident deserves access to quality, affordable healthcare. Expanding medical access and medical research through new healthcare facilities will help ensure families can receive the care they need, when and where they need it.
Priorities:
Ensure that residents have access to urgent care, medical care, and mental health services
Support the opening of two new hospitals within the District: VCU and St. Francis
The cost of living should not push families or seniors out of their communities. Expanding affordable housing options, supporting the Housing Trust Fund, providing tax relief for seniors, and reducing the car tax will help keep Chesterfield accessible for everyone.
Priorities:
Expand affordable housing options and support the Housing Trust Fund
Reduce the car tax
Provide tax relief for seniors
Ensure that working families can afford to live in the communities they serve
Chesterfield residents have made it clear they want thoughtful development that strengthens their communities. Continued investment along the Route 10 corridor will support new businesses, restaurants, and community facilities while ensuring growth improves quality of life.
Priorities:
Continue the development of the Route 10 / IronBridge Corridor
Expand economic opportunities with new businesses and restaurants
Ensure that development strengthens existing neighborhoods
Reduce unnecessary car dependency through smarter planning
Every resident deserves the ability to make their voice heard. Improving accessibility to voting, including expanded early voting locations near our homes and more days and hours of operation, will ensure everyone can participate fully in their community.
Priorities:
Expand early voting locations
Improve accessibility and convenience for voting
